The Process of Flower Preservation

The detailed guide to preserving your precious flowers from fresh to forever encapsulated in resin

Step 1 Flower Preparation

Once flowers are delivered, they are trimmed, hydrated and prepped for preserving in either a flower press or silica sand. This depends on what option you choose to proceed with at time of booking. Preservations can take anywhere from 3 days to 4 weeks to fully preserve. Flowers are checked every 3 days to ensure they are at optimal condition. Please Note* not all flowers survive the preservation process, this depends on type of flower used, pre exposure to chemical sprays and condition of the flower once recieved. When working with natural substances we can have varying results from bouquet to bouquet. Not all types of flowers can be preserved.

step 2

Design Layouts

Once flowers are fully preserved they are cleaned / sealed and ready for designs. We first do a mock up design in your nominated resin mold size/ shape or frame size to ensure you are happy with product, styling and overall desired  look. At this time you can reply with any tweaks or mentions to make it suited to your style. Once confirmed we will then begin casting. Please make sure you frequently check your emails so you do not miss this stage, prolonged periods sitting in designs  can hinder the quality of work whilst  also resulting in flowers next in line priority if you do not reply with 4 days.

step 3

Casting/Framing

Once designs are approved we move on to the  casting or framing stage. Casting resin can take months to complete this timeframe varies as it is dependent on size chosen or quantity of work chosen. We pride ourselves on quality so please allow extra time for all the finishing touches. We generally sit in the 3 month mark for most resin items as this factors in the weather conditions which in some cases are not desirable when working with resin. Framework can have a faster turnaround time as frames are not weather dependent however this  depends on what option of frame work  you choose.

step 4

Approvals

Once your pieces are complete you will be sent a photo or series of photos to proof check you are happy with the final outcome

step 5

Payments

You will receive your invoice around 2-4 weeks from completion, this allows a little extra time on top of the time it takes make so you can either make progress payments or do 1 final total at completion. Perpetual Blume does not offer afterpay or zippay. payment methods are via Bank Transfer
